The Pita Maha Resort & Spa in Ubud

The Pita Maha Resort & Spa in Ubud Set into a mountainside along the Tjampuhan valley in Bali’s cultural heartland, the Pita Maha is a landscaped jewel overlooking the beautiful River Oos. Sweeping views of lush rice terraces and tropical woodland draw the eye along the valley. Created, designed and built by our host, Prince Tjok Gde Raka Sukawati, the Pita Maha Resort is an organic Balinese village. Its elegant villas, carefully placed down the side of the mountain, provide the ultimate in comfort and privacy.

Sunken baths All villas are luxuriously appointed with the finest linens, gorgeous sunken bathtubs, air-conditioning, satellite TV, private bar and heart-stopping views of the valley. The workmanship, in teak, bamboo and stone, is reminiscent of ancient and powerful Balinese palaces.

Fine dining A split-level restaurant, opening onto the valley, offers a sumptuous range of Western and Oriental delicacies. An informal warung provides light fare, snacks and drinks. It is alongside the springwater-fed main pool, which has a disappearing edge and overlooks the entire valley.

The centerpiece of the resort is the lavishly appointed (and remarkably affordable) Spa. It offers a complete menu of health and beauty treatments affording total relaxation of body in the most exquisite surroundings.
